"The greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone. Hence the futility of revolutionaries who have no gardens, who depend on the very system they attack, and who produce words and bullets, not food and shelter." ~ Bill Mollison, founder of modern permaculture.

Welcome To The Global Garden Community

Never grown a plant in your life? Or are you one ginormous garden geek? Whatever your level of knowledge or experience when it comes to growing plants, we hope you'll feel at home here at Just4Growers.

Just4Growers is first and foremost a community for plant lovers. But it's also a place where complete beginners are made to feel especially welcome.

Gardening Begins Indoors!

A simple indoor propagation area for raising seedlings and cuttings.

Okay, okay, so the idea of growing plants indoors may sound a little obtuse to some of you folks out there-but hear me out!

Using grow lights and simple environmental control equipment, you can grow any plant, anywhere, at any time of the year. But, amazing as that is, it's still not the coolest thing...

Indoor gardening allows you to get up close and personal with your plants. Your attention is focussed on them in a truly unique way because you are in total control of their growing environment. I like to think of indoor gardening as a conduit to understanding the kingdom of plants. No need to go find your wellington boots or even a plot of land!

Why Are Plants So Special?

Bolivian Rainbow Pepper in an "Aquafarm" by General HydroponicsWe wouldn't be here if it were not for plants. Plants are part of us. And we are part of them. In turn, plants would not be here if it were not for the bacteria and fungi that existed billions of years before them! The entirety of life on this planet is a complex web, or matrix, or interdependent building blocks.

As human beings, we would be wise to deepen out undertanding of our unique position within this immense scheme.

The Just4Growers Community-Education First!

"The most dangerous thing you can do is educate people. Because when people become educated, you cannot control them, you cannot frighten them. People who are educated know their own power, and don't surrender it to others." ~ Jordan Maxwell.

When I first began to learn about growing plants, all too often, experienced gardeners seemed to enjoy befuddling beginners with erudite terms and unnecessary jargon. It was almost as if they wanted to intellectually protect their "domain" of growing as if it belonged solely to them. The overriding message seemed to be: "Don't be silly! You can't possibly start to think about growing your own until you've taken a masters degree in botany!"

The Just4Growers community is jammed full of experts!

I, for one, am humbled by the depth of knowledge to be found among our community's lighting specialists, commercial hydroponic growers, organic growing gurus, composting masters and market gardeners.

But this community isn't about aggrandizing our experts! It's about you! Specifically, it's about you having easy access to great educational materials to help you get started as a grower, and to help existing growers improve.

Just4Growers is all about education and empowerment. I believe that gaining knowledge on how to produce our own food supply is a central pillar of our freedom on this planet.

"Though the problems of the world are increasingly complex, the solutions remain embarrassingly simple" ~ Bill Mollison

The kernel of Just4Growers is an ever-expanding body of educational materials to help get you to get growing-everything from clearly written articles and how-to guides, to downloadable infosheets, instuctional videos, and more!
